• Associate Pastor of Youth & Education

  Northern Heights Baptist Church in Norfolk, NE is seeking God's man for our growing church to serve as a full-time associate pastor for youth and education.  It is our mission statement that we should be, "Investing our lives in lives that all may know Christ."  We are excited with what God is doing here, but have learned that as we persue our mission we will need an addition to our church staff.  We desire a man who exhibits a personal and growing relationship with Christ.  This person needs a strong Biblical and theological background, and is in agreement with the Baptist Fatih and Message.  They also need to be highly relational, energetic and a proven team player.  The responsibilities of this position are three fold:

  Youth: It is important that the Associate Pastor of Youth and Education develops and oversees a dynamic youth ministry with an emphasis of equipping youth with a Biblical worldview and ensuring that teens are prepared to face today's challenges.  This individual will need to serve as a pastor and mentor to teens, modeling Christ to the students.  He will be responsible in leading and organizing an effective youth ministry by implementing Biblical teaching with life application, fellowship, worship, discipleship, evangelism, Biblical counseling and mission opportunities.  This person should value "fun" and at the same time focus on "substance."  The associate pastor will be expected to partner with familes and help support the home, giving specific attention to equipping and encouraging parents to disciple their children wisely and well.  He will make outreach to families a priority.  (Time allocated 55%)

  Education: Oversee and direct a comprehensive discipleship program which includes nursery through adults.  Areas of ministry include Sunday school, Awana and small groups.  This person will be responsible for casting vision, promoting discipleship, equipping and empowering leaders and recruiting.  The strategy adopted will be driven by the authority of God's word, exalting the Savior, equipping the church and evanglizing the lost.  There also will be an emphasis on assimilating new members and regular attendees into the discipleship program of the church.  (Time allocated 30%)

  In addition, this person will be responsible for performing the normal administrative and pastoral care duties that are inherent in the position.  This includes, but is not limited to, general pastoral care, partnering with the Senior Pastor and other staff to develop a comprehensive ministry philosophy and strategy for the church and various administrative duties.  This is a new position, and we anticipate the need to be flexible in defining further responsibilities that will be required.  We will be sensitive to the skills and talents of the individual that God calls to this position and to the changing needs of our church as we facilitate the growth with which God has blessed us.  (Time allocated 15%)
