Disaster Relief Support for the Democratic National Convention
Colorado Baptists have been given a huge opportunity to make a kingdom impact during a national event right here in our own backyard. As you are fully aware, I am sure, Denver will be hosting the Democratic National Convention this summer and we have opportunities for service during and around this event. Our disaster relief organization has been asked to be a part of a historic partnership between non-profit, religious and Governmental agencies.

Disaster Relief Volunteers Needed for DNC
The Democratic National Convention (DNC) will be in Denver August 25-28, 2008. The Office of Emergency Management for Denver and other agencies in the City are making plans to respond in case of a terrorist attack, forest fires, or a weather related emergency.

In an effort to fulfill our vision and live our core values, the Prayer and Evangelism Team seeks to lead Colorado Baptists to maintain an absolute dependency on God through prayer, provide intercessory prayer support, training, and resources so that we will penetrate lostness under the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the certainty of God’s will, leading and presence, and the humility of needing Him in all we do.
The Team offers conferencing, consulting, and workshops on developing a stronger prayer ministry within your ministry setting. Some common workshops include:

June festival features Christian musicians, speakers
The God Rally Project is a free three-day music festival June 20-22 in Rifle.
Artists scheduled to appear at the Garfield County Fairgrounds on Railroad Avenue include Lindsy Morton, Jimmy Needham, Big Daddy Weave, Mark Phillips, Sonflowerz, Rough Draft, Five Face Down, Soulja and many others.
What are Pregnancy Resource Centers?
A pregnancy resource center functions as an evangelistic arm of the local church and demonstrates the compassion and truth of Jesus Christ in practical ways to families and individuals with pregnancy-related needs. It offers alternatives to abortion in unplanned and unwanted pregnancies in a way that is neither political nor social, but spiritual.
